1. Mindfulness in Nature Programs
Mindful of Nature partners with a network of teachers and like-minded organizations to offer a variety of nature-based programs that can be adapted to the needs of the populations and organizations we serve. These nature-based mindfulness programs can vary from as short as a one-hour class, to a half day, full day or multi day programs. We survey the participants of these short-form programs to contribute to our growing body of evidence-based research that shows the positive impact of being in nature with mindfulness.
2. Mindfulness Based Nature Connection (MBNC™) a Six-module Program
One of our central programs is a 6 module mindfulness in nature program that systematically trains people to develop a rich and enduring connection to the natural world through a variety of accessible and engaging meditations and techniques. This is typically offered over six sessions, generally in a 2-hour session format outdoors in nature. Participants will learn a variety of methods that allow them to connect with their environment in intimate and profound ways. One of the fruits of this course is supporting people to care for and respond to current ecological challenges. This course is offered to anyone, but we endeavor to offer this course freely, to people in the helping professions. This includes school teachers, health care providers, first responders, as well as to at-risk youth, seniors, and to business and organizational leaders.
3. Professional Network
The Mindful of Nature Professional Network is a supportive community created primarily for the benefit of nature-based mindfulness teachers to connect, learn, and grow together. This network offers a shared space for teachers to exchange ideas, reflect on their experiences, strengthen their teaching skills, and feel less isolated in their work. Through peer connection, collaborative learning, and ongoing dialogue, participants deepen their confidence and capacity as teachers while staying grounded in the values and mission of Mindful of Nature. By learning from one another and building meaningful professional relationships, members of the network are better equipped to expand the reach of their teaching and bring nature-based mindfulness to the communities they serve. This also serves as an opportunity to connect with professional from mindfulness institutions and organizations that work with the target audiences we serve.
4. Science-Driven Research
Beyond the programs we offer in partnership with like-minded organizations, we are also working on developing a robust research study on the Mindfulness-Based Nature Connection (MBNC™) 6-module Program, to measure its benefits for health, mental health, well-being, reducing stress, and increasing environmental care and responsibility by engaging with researchers at UCSF and other higher-education institutions. We hope this work will also contribute to our growing body of evidence-based research that shows the positive impact of being in nature with mindfulness. We are actively seeking funding for this research project.
