      Can you forest bathe indoors?

Forest bathing is a kind of therapy inspired largely by the Japanese relaxation practice, shinrin yoku, whereby people ground themselves in the natural world by opening their senses to the nature surrounding them. And while “forest bathing” sounds like something you’d have to be outside to experience — “Not necessarily,” says Kathryn Hunninen, senior manager of special initiatives and a certified forest guide with six years of experience at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.

Can you forest bathe indoors? The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy says: Yes.

The forest bathing session scheduled last week to celebrate Tu B’Shevat, the New Year for Trees, was moved to a classroom in the Frick Environmental Center on account of the extreme cold.
